Safety Threat on 9/20/19
September 20, 2019
Dear Parsons’ Parents and Community,
We were notified at approximately 9:45 AM that there was a threatening Snapchat message circulating among students at Peachtree Ridge High School. As the safety and security of our students and staff at Parsons Elementary and Peachtree Ridge High School were our priority, precautionary steps were taken with additional SROs and all outside activities being cancelled. The cluster SROs, along with Peachtree Ridge administrators reacted swiftly to the threat, and by 10:40 AM we were notified that the threat had been lifted. The student was identified and appropriate actions were taken.
As parents, I know this is an alarming incident and a sad reminder that we must always be prepared in the case of an emergency that impacts our school. As your principal, I am committed to keeping our school safe and following the procedures in our Local School Safety Plan. As always, thank you for your continued support of our school and school community.
Sincerely,
Laura J. Clark
Principal

Kalí douleiá (Great Job in Greek)
I'd like to thank Raiya for all that she does to help me with any ESOL discrepancies in SIS. We email each other at all kinds of hours at night and on the weekend. She calls students' former schools at the drop of a hat for me to get their ESOL information, and she is just all around pleasant to work with. I am so glad she's in our tribe!! -Cynthia Lewis
できたね De kita ne (You did it in Japanese)
Shout out to Tyler Perkerson from the 4th grade team.
Life is so much better with you in it. Thank you for all the work you do for our grade level before we even think about what to do or when it's DUE! You are always willing to share, create, assist and encourage us to be the best we can be. You do this with grace and without expecting anything in return. We love you, Tyler Perkerson!
TEAM Fantastico (italian)
You guys were AWESOME yesterday! Dr. Williams was so impressed with your cohesiveness, level of instruction, and student engagement. To say that we were proud would be an understatement. We just can't stop smiling! Thank you for working hard to help your students achieve at the highest levels possible. ~Sheri
Dr. Williams' noted there was 'tight alignment, explicit modeling, and small group instruction'.
Safety and Security Highlight
Also, the fire doors need to be closed and not propped open - the door that is between Mrs. Brown's classroom and the hallway, the door between Ricky Berry's office and the hallway, and the door to the copier room/work room. The Fire Marshal will be back soon and that is one of the things that has to be done in order for us to pass our inspection.
