BRAVO, TO CHUCK JONES! & THE UNICYCLING CLUB! As always, they were one of the biggest hits at the East Cobber Parade!
- STANDING OVATION to EVERYONE FOR AN OUTSTANDING KICKBALL GAME!! We will have final numbers soon - after we sell off the extra concessions. The grand total will hover somewhere near $8K! WAY TO GO! Can't get enough of the Dance Team's performance, no worries, it's posted below.
- WAY TO GO, CogAT and Iowa SUPERSTARS! A special shout-out to Kellie and Mary who are make-up Ninjas! Congrats to Jaime & Kevin who have completed their first cycle as Testing Coordinators. Testing documents were delivered to the Warehouse on Friday without a visit to the Table of Shame! Way to go, All!
FOUNDATION PATRON PACKET DISTRIBUTION
Please make sure to send Patron Packets home on Monday, 10/1.
Also, any day in October that you make a blog post about the Foundation and include a picture of your students engaged in doing something Foundation-Funded will earn you a jeans day. *Caveat - no jeans during conference week.*
I'll send out an email with the list of items funded by our Foundation so you have it for your reference. GET EXCITED!

TKES Walks & Formatives
30 minute announced formative evaluations will begin on Tuesday, 10/2. Sign up - and sign up early!
For those on the FLEX Cycle
- Sign up for a 30-minute Formative Assessment Observation with your evaluator.
- We want to see ELA (Reading or Writing - including small group differentiated instruction).
- Dog and pony not necessary - please teach as you always do.
- Submit plans 24 hours in advance - hard or digital copy fine.
For those on the FULL or FLEX-PLUS Cycle,
- Your evaluator will conduct 2 Walkthroughs.
- Once those Walkthroughs are completed, sign up for a 30-minute Formative Assessment Observation.
- For the 30-minute Formative Assessment Observation:
- Dog and pony not necessary - please teach as you always do.
- Please submit plans 24 hours in advance before your 30 minute Formative Assessment Observation - hard or digital copy fine.
INTECH NEWS & TECH THURSDAY
Teachers, bring yourselves and your charged laptops or you can use. Paras, you can use a laptop off the cart.
Please see the document below for the time you will attend. Subs are already arranged. Make sure you have 2 hours worth of work prepared to leave for subs.
MANDATORY TRAINING - CPR/AED VIDEO - DUE BY 10/5
WATCH BENCHMARK CPR/AED VIDEO - less than 20 minutes. Can watch as an individual or in groups. Please make sure you are watching and listening - not multi-tasking. This means you should only be watching/listening to the video and you should fully engage in the content.
SIGN OFF THAT THE VIDEO HAS BEEN WATCHED. - DUE BY 10/5. ANY STAFF MEMBER WHO DOES NOT COMPLETE WITHIN DEADLINE WILL HAVE JEANS DAYS REVOKED.
CONFERENCE WEEK TIMELINE
- Letters to go home on 10/1 - THE MONDAY AFTER FALL BREAK.
- If you need a letter in a different language, please let your evaluator know.
- Finalize schedule (hopefully by Friday)

RTI-2 Tier 2
Our first RTI-2 meeting will be on 10/9 during planning.

Meagan shared a PowerPoint with all teachers that outlines step-by-step how to enter students in CSIS.
First Responders
Jaime will send confirmation to those who will serve on our First Responder Team. First Responder Training will take place on 10/11 from 8am - 11am. We will arrange subs for those who require subs.
