New year and updates!

After a nice long winter vacation, the Interns and Staff returned on January 4th. They have been extremely busy upon their return. The Interns have completed their second internships and are now in their final internships.

We also welcomed three new Project SEARCH honorary steering committee members. Congratulations to

Classroom Connections

A few highlights from the classroom:

  • We have a new ipad that the interns are taking turns using. Brenda used it in her second internship as it has her job tasks organized by pictures.
  • Thank you to Cape Fear Vocational Services Job Coaches, Tiffany Blake and DeAngelo Brooks, for substituting for Brandi Hopkins while she was out on medical leave.
  • Brandi Hopkins is now back with us!
  • Thanks the ARMC Maintenance Department for all their work on the classroom. We honored them with a catered lunch for all their hard work.
  • We had an Intern from Elon, Ioanna Kosti, for the month of January. She joined us from her Health and Human Services Course. She assisted Mrs. Wooten and the Job Coaches with training and supervision. She also attended the bowling fundraiser with us for Alamance Eldercare on Saturday, February 6th. The Project SEARCH Interns enjoyed her company and we hated to see her leave.
