School's Out! Wrapping up 2019-2020
What an interesting way to end our school year! I'd like to thank you for being so supportive as our staff and students adjusted to a new way of learning and teaching. Our staff has used this time and will continue to learn and grow more proficient in technology and remote instruction. We appreciate the grace that you have given us all as we have navigated through unchartered waters. As the main facilitator of learning in your home, we can't say thank you enough for making sure your children were logged in and remained active learners. We learned new ways to recognize our students and teachers as we headed into the busiest time of the school year. Our Virtual Teacher Appreciation Week, Schoolwide Car Parade, 5th-grade drive-through graduations, Google Meet End of Year Parties, and virtual parent-teacher conferences showed us that we can be adaptable and transformational even in the middle of a pandemic!
We can't wait to be back with your children and to return to normalcy. Our school is sparkling clean: carpets have been professionally clean, floors waxed, undergone deep sanitizing, our gym floor has been refinished and even some fresh paint on the walls but the desks are empty and this has been especially hard for our teachers as they love your children like their own.
At this time, we haven't determined a date for Meet the Teacher because we are waiting on direction from the district and the Governor. We want to be sure that we comply with the guidance and suggestions for safe group gatherings. We will send out communication bi-weekly as updates become available.
Please send my love to your children. Remind them to continue to read daily and to enjoy this little piece of summer that we have!
Schoolwide Theme 2020-2021
Our theme for 2020-2021 is "Say Yes to New Adventures" All of our students and staff will join us as "Wallaby Adventurers"
Congratulations to our Retirees!
We'd like to give a special thank you to these staff members that are retiring as of June 30. Their dedication to our school and our students has been unwavering.
