OCE Curriculum Nights
Based on feedback from the parent survey, OCE is bringing a series of curriculum night presentations to parents.
First up is "Today's Math: I didn't learn math like that!"
The workshop will take place on Wednesday, January 16 from 6:30 - 8:00 p.m. at OCE. Childcare will be provided and there will be presentations in both English and Spanish. For more information see the flyer below.
Go ahead and mark your calendars for two additional curriculum nights at OCE:
- February 20, 2019, 6:30 - 8:00 p.m. – Building Socio-Emotional Skills in Your Elementary School Child. In this workshop parents will learn how to attend to the socio-emotional development of their child while also setting appropriate limits and following through on consequences.
- March 13, 2019 6:30 - 8:00 p.m. – Reading is Fundamental! (K-5) Reading is fundamental to function in today’s society and in developing a good self-image. One of the most effective approaches to help a child develop literacy skills is having a home environment that encourages reading in daily life. Parents will learn how to support the development of their child’s literacy at home.
Weather Make-Up Days
Reminder that the second snow make-up day from December will now be on Friday, January 18, 2019 -- this Friday will no longer be an early release day and will instead be a full day of school for snow make-up.
