Principal's Message
PTMS Families,
It has been a wonderful and long week here on campus. There are so many highlights and I want to share a few of them as we head into a four-day weekend. As we prepare our eighth graders for high school selection, we are also in the process of welcoming our incoming sixth graders. This began on Monday as our sixth graders from Solana Ranch ES paid us a visit. They were welcomed by our PTMS band, then heard a presentation from our counselors about course selection, school culture, and tips for success. They finished up with taking a tour of our campus. Tuesday's Valentines Day was highlighted by ASB Valentine Grams that brought lots of smiles to our students. Thank you so much to PTSA, specifically Tracy and Melissa, for the wonderful treats they provided our staff on Tuesday! Last night, we capped off the week with our "Glow the Night Away" dance. Despite the chilly weather, students danced, laughed, and had a ton of fun with each other. A shout out to Ms. Main and ASB for planning a great dance, and a special thank you to all of our parent volunteers who got involved. We are really grateful for your support.
One final note about course selection next year - if you intend to have your student take ISPE, the window for that is 2/13 - 3/17. The deadline can sneak up on us and I don't want anyone to miss it.
That's all from me. Have a wonderful and safe four-day weekend and we will see you Wednesday.
In gratitude,
Scott Wild
Principal

CA Healthy Kids Survey is Coming Up!
On March 8th, your student will be asked to take the California Healthy Kids Survey (CHKS) sponsored by the California Department of Education. The survey will be administered through students' homeroom classes.
This is a very important survey that will help promote better health and well-being among our youth, improve the school learning environment and combat problems such as drug abuse and violence. For more information please read the Consent for California Healthy Kids Survey letter.
Your student does not have to take the survey. If you do not want your student to complete the survey, please click HERE to complete the opt-out form by March 5th.
If you have any questions please email kathryn.freeman@sduhsd.net or lisa.graciano@sduhsd.net.

Please follow us on Instagram to see what your student is up to during PE class.
Congratulations to Audry Curtis for winning the Pi Day T-shirt Design.!
Every year, PTMS teachers and students buy Pi T-Shirts. This year, students were given the task to create a design for a Pi T-Shirt and turn it into their Math teacher. On February 6th, students voted for their favorite design during Math Class. Although there were a lot of amazing and creative designs, Audry Curtis' design had the most votes among the 7th and 8th graders. Congratulations to Audry for winning the Pi Day T-shirt design. The t-shirts will be available to purchase for $12. Please see Miss Vetha in the office if you are interested.
Pi Day - March 13th - Volunteers Needed!
For this year's Pi Day celebration, we will be needing parent volunteers to help make a successful and fun day for the students. You can sign up for your child's math period, however, if you can stay longer please sign up for more slots.
