AMCMS will be holding a parent night for upcoming seventh graders Monday January 13th, at 6:00. The school counselor will be there to discuss course choices and registration for next year. Please plan to arrive early for parking and seating purposes.

Math:

Greetings all math classes are solving proportions and making predictions. Next week we begin converting between decimals-fraction-percents. Out next test is January 22.

Make sure your son/daughter is studying their decimals-fraction-percent memorization chart. We have 3 quizzes next week over the material.

E/LA:

Happy New Year! I hope everyone had an opportunity to spend time together as a family over the break. This week in E/LA, we have been continuing with our poetry unit which will come to a close next week with a poetry compilation project. The students will have four class days to work on it. However, if the students do not complete their work in class, you will see it come home for homework. The compilation rubric will go home Monday and the final product will be due for a major test grade on Friday, January 17. This would be a great time to check with your student regarding school supplies. They will need pencils, pens, notebook paper, and colored pencils to complete the project. As always, please contact me if you have any questions or concerns.

Social Studies:

Next week we will continue our studies of various world religions. The students enjoyed learning about Hanukkah and made their own driedels. We will also be learning about Christianity, Islam, Hinduism, Sikhism, and Buddhism.

Science:

The students are studying energy. Reviews will be sent home Wednesday the test will be Friday.
