Part II: Connecting the NAVICA App to HCSD
Dear Parents,
As part of our safe return to school after Spring Break, we are encouraging all HCSD in-person students returning to school on April 13th to take a rapid antigen test (gentle nose swab) on Monday, April 12th. This test will give results in 15 minutes instead of our regular 2-3 days.
We appreciate your cooperation as we attempt to streamline and simplify our COVID testing strategies! Thank you, as always, for your continued patience and partnership.
If you nave not downloaded the NAVICA app, please do that first.
If you have downloaded the app, skip to #2 Below
#1: Download the NAVICA app from the Apple App Store or Google Play store
Next: Create an account through the NAVICA app.
#2: You will receive a personalized Connect Code from "NAVICA Invitation from Hillsborough City School District" email. Each child will have their own Connect Code. Once you receive this email (sometime over the weekend) go to #3
#3: Connecting your NAVICA account to HCSD

- From the Test Site page, select the "person" icon in the top right corner to access you Account and Settings

Spring Break 101: What you need to know- Please read carefully!
ACTION REQUIRED:
For K-5 Students: Please reach out to your teachers today if your child(ren) will quarantine beyond 4/12, and let your teacher(s) and principal(s) know your planned dates of quarantine and return to in-person school date(s).
For Crocker Students: Please email crockerabsences@hcsdk8.org to let them know your plans.
Please remember, if you have traveled by plane, San Mateo County Health recommends a 10 day quarantine (or 7 day quarantine with a negative test 3-5 days after return). No distinction for private vs. commercial travel.
We have two testing options available the week of 4/12:
If your child is returning to in-person school on 4/13 we encourage you to attend our BinaxNOW rapid testing event on 4/12. Testing will happen at each of our campus sites, and a sign up will be sent next week. More information about the BinaxNOW test can be found here.
For those who will quarantine beyond 4/13 or wish to confirm rapid results with a PCR test, we will also offer an OMECARE test pick up in bins at District Office on Wednesday 4/14 between 8am-6pm with return to bins at District Office by 1pm on Thursday 4/15.
If you need to or wish to test other than these two dates, please use an alternate test option (resources are listed here) and send results to Leilani Bell (lbell@hcsdk8.org).
Please refer to this graphic below to help you determine what testing options are best for your family based on your plans for Spring Break.
More information will be sent next week regarding the testing event on 4/12. Please remember, we are still all in this together! We are relying on all of our families to take advantage of our testing resources before we return to campus!
