Monkeys of Gibraltar
There is no other location you can find Barbary Macaques other then Europe wich is generally thought in a connection with Gibraltar. Barbary Macaques are the only species of a macaques that comes from Africa. The other 20 species are from Asia.

Did you know more than 28,000 people live on Gibraltar? About 12,000 are tourist!
The history of Gibraltar
Gibraltar was a British military base. Spain took over in 1462. The British took over and got Gibraltar back in 1704.
Gibraltar now
Gibraltar is a really big rock located off of Spain. In the area of Gibraltar the population is around 28,000 people, making it the 5th densely populated place. Its coast borders the north of Spain. The most famous structure in that area is Gibraltar! People have inhabited that area for more than thousands of years. It was really important because it was a British military base. Gibraltar is a very fascinating place it is also very important. You should visit Gibraltar one day!

Just a Big Rock!
Gibraltar is thought to be a small mountain, but is really a huge rock! The Gibraltar rock is about 426.m high, and its located in the British overseas territory of Gibraltar. So whenever you go to Gibraltar and see something that looks as if its a small mountain its really just a big rock.
Siege tunnels
Siege tunnels were very important in Gibraltar's history (see passage four). Today, the siege tunnels serve as a major tourist attraction. there are water ways and cave tunnels. The water ways are big tourist boat rides. The caves are almost the same but you wall climb and walk through the many tunnels through out Gibraltar.
Gibraltars History
The African plate collided tighlty with Europe over 55 million years ago. The Mediterranean sea became a lake wich, in the course of time, dried up until 5 million yeras ago when the Atlantic ocean broke through the strait of Gibraltar and flooded it again, isolating the rock of Jurassic limestone.
