Language Arts and Spelling

This week we will be reading "Riding Freedom." Students will be learning about adjectives and figurative language. We will finish our descriptive writing this week. The focus page for this week is to the right.


**Don't forget to study your spelling words! Our spelling test will be on Friday!

Math

This week in math we continue Unit 4 on Fractions, Decimals, and Measurement: Addition, Subtraction, and Multiplication. We will be comparing fractions, and adding and subtracting fractions.

The optional homework packet will come home today, it is DUE next Monday.

For students that are unable to attend school and are at home. Please check the Google Classroom for updates. Here is your work for the week as of today:
Math

-Monday: NO SCHOOL
-Tuesday: Compare Fractions lesson under "TEACHER ASSIGNED" and at least 1 of your personalized lessons under "MY PATH".
-Wednesday : Compare Fractions check under "TEACHER ASSIGNED" and at least 1 of your personalized lessons under "MY PATH".
-Thursday: At least 2 of your personalized lessons under "MY PATH".
-Friday: Understand Fraction Addition and Subtraction lesson under "TEACHER ASSIGNED" and at least 1 of your personalized lessons under "MY PATH".

LEXIA - 20 Minutes every day

Power Spelling - Complete 1 activity for Spelling every day. On FRIDAY take the spelling test on Power Spelling.

Please have your child fill out the questionnaire about themselves and return it to school the following Monday. They should also draw or bring in pictures of things they enjoy. A family picture is also fun to include!

COVID Update

The district is not excluding for close contacts except for household close contacts to a person with Covid-19 according to the following parameters:

Symptomatic (regardless of vaccination status) – Stay home for 5 days after last exposure to close contact. (Strongly encourage testing and wear a mask around other people) (Day 0 is the day the covid positive person is finished with their isolation)

Asymptomatic (Vaccinated) – May come to school, encourage to mask, encourage to test.

Asymptomatic (Non-Vaccinated) – May come to school, required to test before returning to school, encouraged to test 2 more times in the next 7 days, and encourage to mask.

Using devices at home

There is an attachment below telling you how to access Clever and Google Drive when working on a device that is not from the school. If your student is not able to attend school and needs a device to work on at home, please contact your teacher.


If your child is using an iPad® for i-Ready

  1. Download the free iReady for Students app from the App Store®. iPads must be compatible with iOS® 11 or above, such as the iPad Air®, iPad Air 2, iPad Pro®, or any other device that meets the requirements listed here.
  2. Determine the login mechanism used by your child’s school.
    • If your child’s district/school uses Clever, download the Clever app, log in using their district/school portal credentials, and click on the iReady icon.
