Sophomore Scheduling Information
Pre-Scheduling Presentation
This week I visited all of the 9th grade Science classes to go over some pre-scheduling information with your student. We looked at the ICAP (Individual Career & Academic Planner) and talked about graduation requirements and what core courses would be required for sophomore year. I have shared that presentation with all of my students. If you would like to view the presentation, please click here. Students have access to their ICAP in their Google Drive.
What happens next?
Choosing classes for next year
I will be going into the English classes next week (Jan 29 - Feb 2) to work with your student as they choose their courses for next week. After I meet with their English class, they will be bringing home a Student Planning Guide, a copy of their current transcript, a pre-enrollment form, and instructions on how to enter their schedule request into SIS. Students will begin collecting signatures from their teachers on their enrollment form and these forms will be due on February 7th.
If you would like to look over the Student Planning Guide before your student brings it home, the electronic version is available here.
New schedule change policy
From the Student Planning Guide:
Please take some time to go over the scheduling information with your student next week when they bring home the materials. If you have any questions, please do not hesitate to contact me.
