Foods in Central Africa

~Food Background~
Many parts in Africa have stayed true to their original traditional foods because they haven't had many outside influences to change their food.
Cassavas
This is a popular base food in Central African culture that they have eaten for many years.
Plantains
This is also a very popular base food in Central African culture that is normally eaten. These types of food are eaten in different ways from soups and stews to frying and basic eating.
Plantain Stew
This is a stew thats base is made from plantains. Central Africans also eat foods such as chick peas, rice, and other starchy vegetables.
Meats
Meats in Central Africa weren't as popular because they were higher priced than most other foods but when they did eat meat, it usually came from animals in their area including wild pig, antelope, and even monkeys

Other
Other foods that are popularly eaten in Central Africa include rice, pumpkin, and peanuts are widely used around the Central African area.
Peanuts
Also used to make peanut butter.
Rice
Usually on the side of a dish with plantains or cassavas
Squash
This is usually ground up and put into stews and soups
