Staff Members of the Month
Congratulations to of our nominees for Staff Members of the Month! It's incredible to hear all of the wonderful things each nominee is doing to inspire passionate learners across our building by living out our core values of respect, advocating for others, creatively thinking, promoting the social, emotional and academic growth of our students and colleagues, and creating solutions to problems.
Support Staff Member of the Month: Bonnie- Bonnie is a quiet observer who is always ready to lend a hand, an ear, or give a hug. In addition to keeping our school in great shape, each afternoon she strategically parks herself at the entrance to the kindergarten hallway and acts as a second pair of eyes when we are doing dismissal and watches to help keep our kids safe and happy as they leave. She’s a true blessing to our campus.
Paraprofessional of the Month- Patty McDonald- Always has a smile and a helping hand.
Teacher of the Month- Elizabeth Dowden- She works hard to inspire the students in her classroom. She always self reflects and finds ways to do better at every step.
We appreciate all of your hard work and commitment to our kids!
Units of Study Reading and Writing Feedback
We have also been learning about the power of feedback and how it helps our students and us grow as learners. We have developed a feedback form specifically for this purpose. Please keep in mind that feedback is not intended to be evaluative or interpretive. Feedback is a way highlight specific evidence of reader's and writer's workshop by naming and noticing all of the components your implementing.
When a basketball coach provides feedback to his best point guard, he's providing timely, specific feedback to help his best point guard refine his shot, strategic view of the court, and stamina to help him/her get even better. That's exactly what we will be doing by providing feedback to you on the form below. Please take a moment to look over the form and let Kim, Lauren, or me know of any questions or concerns you may have.

You're welcome to utilize this form with your feedback partners today if your partner would rather you give them this feedback rather than feedback over Domain 2 or 3. Feel free to make a copy of the form or print it off if you're partner is interested in more specific feedback regarding their instructional practices for reader's or writer's workshop.
