From the Office:
~Well, it has been quite the snowy week, but as usual your students were involved and engaged in a great deal of learning. Please ask them specifically about the kinds of work they did in all all subject areas this week! Asking specifically usually stops the answer to the question of "What did you do in school today?" Response: Nothing - to a response with more elaboration and hopefully even, excitement. This is an interesting article regarding this phenomenon! https://offspring.lifehacker.com/stop-asking-your-kid-about-their-day-1822416445
~ Celebrate Windsor: If you have not yet sent in a picture of your family celebrating a tradition and letting us know where your family is from, please do. We look forward to celebrating our community! We have heard from of you. This week, I learned that we have families from:
~It is very important that we do not continually interrupt classroom instruction time with reminders to students during the school day. With that in mind please remember that:
•All forgotten snow gear, snacks, lunches, etc. must be left in the office with child's name and teacher on it. If your child has forgotten something from home, ask them to check in the office, or in their Blue grade level bin, also in the office.
•Music for Youth students must be responsible for his or her lesson time. It is difficult to locate a student once they are out at recess and we cannot repeatedly call into the classroom each week.
•If your after school pick up arrangements for your child changes on a particular day please notify the office prior to dismissal to avoid any confusion for your child. Additionally, if you are running late, which we know can happen on occasion, please contact the office as soon as you know you will be late.
We appreciate your help as we work hard to limit those interruptions to learning!
~Please check out the information about YEARBOOKS in the PTA NEWS! This is a one time only sale and it ends on February 16th! After that date you will not be able to order yearbooks, so please order them now!
~ Please remember our Valentine's Day parties will not include any food! Additionally, we thank you you for not attaching any food to the valentines that you send in for our students. It should be a fun afternoon! Thanks to all the room reps for organizing the festivities.
~ MAP testing results will come home in backpack mail today for students in grades 3,4,5!
~ Next week is our PTA sponsored Book and Science Fair on Thursday evening. We are looking forward to it.

Have a wonderful Wildcats weekend!
