The Gingerbread Man and Repunzel

Once upon a time there was an old man and an old woman. They decided to make a gingerbread man cookie, so they made a little jacket with cute little buttons and iced it on him. They put their creation into the oven excited to eat it later.

When the old man and the old woman took him out of the oven he jumped up and ran out the door. As he ran he sang, “Run, run as fast as you can, you can’t catch me I’m the gingerbread man.” Taken by surprise, the old man and the old woman jumped up and ran out the out the door chasing the gingerbread man across the valley.

After running for some time, they encountered a pig. The pig said “Stop, stop, I’m hungry for a snack.”

The gingerbread man put his little hand on his little hip and said, “Run run as fast as you can, you can’t catch me I’m the gingerbread man.” The pig chased after him with the old man and old woman right behind him. They ran through the town and soon the gingerbread man runs right past a butcher.

Intrigued by the delicious looking snack, the butcher said, “Stop stop! I want to eat you.”

The gingerbread man put his little hand on his little hip and yelled, “Run run as fast as you can, you can’t catch me I’m the gingerbread man!”

The butcher chased after the gingerbread man along with the old man and woman, the pig.

As they were running, the gingerbread man raced past a farmer, he yelled, “Stop stop, I want to eat you!”

Once again, the gingerbread man put his little hand on his little hip and said, “Run run as fast as you can, you can’t catch me I’m the gingerbread man. The farmer began to chase after him with the rest of the group, they were beginning to think they would never catch him.

The gingerbread man came to an abrupt stop. To his surprise there was nowhere left to run, the valley had ended and there before him was a rushing river. When the people chasing him saw that he was unable to cross the river, they caught up with him. However they hadn’t thought of how they were supposed to share the miniature cookie between five people. They stopped paying attention to the gingerbread man and focused all their energy on arguing.

The very clever gingerbread man began to sneak down the river bank. As he got farther and farther down the river, he began to lose sight of all the people, but he could still hear their loud shouts for miles. As he was walking, he found a large tower behind some bushes. Getting closer to the mysterious tower, he saw long flowing hair hanging from the window. He decided he didn’t have anything to lose except himself, so he climbed up the long blond hair. As he arrived at the top, he caught sight of a gorgeous young girl. So he gathered all his courage and asked if he could stay in her large house for the night. The sweet girl agreed, but she warned that when her mother got home, he must hide because she was never allowed to have visitors. In fact, she had never met anybody else except for her mother.

They had a nice evening together and when the mother got home, he quickly hid in the pantry.

He fell asleep, but was awoken suddenly when he heard a loud thud. Assuming the girl was exaggerating about her mother, he climbed out of the pantry to see what was going on. He jumped up the stairs and saw a woman sharpening an axe. He figured it was unusual so he stuck around to get a few more facts.

Being very quiet, he heard her whispering something, she said, “I have to kill Rapunzel, they have to come inspect my house and if they see her, she’ll know she’s the stolen princess.”

Oh no, thought the gingerbread man, she can’t kill Rapunzel, that’s not right. So before she could kill her stolen daughter, he stuck a knife in her back killing the evil woman.

She was gone and Rapunzel was safe, the gingerbread man assumed she would be happy, he assumed wrong. She was furious when she heard the news, I invite one guest into my house, and he kills my mother. Without thinking it through, she quickly ate the gingerbread man.

That night she cried herself to sleep missing her mother. In her dreams there were many gingerbread men running around her house saying, “You killed me for no reason, you killed me for no reason!” Afraid, she woke up feeling bad for what she did. She decided that if she cut off all of her gorgeous hair, the gingerbread man would come back to life.

Her plan worked, and the gingerbread man came back to life, but this time with long blonde hair.
