TEACHER OF THE YEAR 2020-2021
Cynthia's musical talent and art of teaching have touched Paramount students' lives since the school opened 14 years ago. Throughout the years Cynthia has championed the development of the Character Education program which Paramount's learning community is built upon. Her role as music teacher provides her with the unique opportunity to work with every single one of our Paramount Stars and we are excited to recognize her with this honor.
This awardee is selected by staff members. Here are some of the kind words staff used to describe Cynthia:
"Cynthia Cook is always on top of her game, and she has worked tirelessly to provide opportunities to and for all students to enjoy, learn, and be successful in the arts. It was beauty to my ears and pure magic walking into her classroom and seeing the level of engagement of the students. She takes every aspect of her job seriously and never lets a teachable moment pass. She incorporates the pillars of character into every lesson. I cannot think of a teacher more dedicated or more in love with her content than Cynthia."
"This lady is a ray of sunshine! She always has a kind word, smile, and song (even behind the mask!) She is so flexible and willing to change direction to make things happen. She truly loves and cares about our kids and sharing her love of music with them - she has gone to great lengths this year to make music a great learning experience for them. She's simply the best!"
CLASSIFIED EMPLOYEE OF THE YEAR 2020-2021
Heather transitioned from the office to the Safe School Assistant position in the fall. The start of a new school year amid the COVID-19 crisis brought many new and unexpected challenges. As an essential member of the Paramount team, Heather approached each challenge with sleeves rolled up and a 'can do' attitude. She helped implement systems to increase safety during arrival/dismissal, lunchtime, and recess. Heather is willing to take on help wherever there is a need. Above all, Heather's positive interactions with students are evidence of how deeply she cares about each one of them. Congratulations Mrs. Crosby!
This awardee is selected by staff members. Here are some of the kind words staff used to describe Heather:
"Outstanding attitude thinks on her feet, and works tirelessly to keep up with our ever-changing year. She loves the kids and is wonderful to have here at Paramount!"
"Heather wears many hats, and has filled this role of SSA to a "T", she is awesome, and will do anything for anyone....she has a heart of gold."
"Heather treats kids with dignity, respect, and love. And the kids love her in return! She is great at what she does, and we are lucky to have her at Paramount."

PARENT ENGAGEMENT SURVEY
Take the survey: Parent survey link
One of the pieces of Idaho’s school accountability system is a parent survey. This survey asks for your input on several topics to help measure how our schools are doing in meeting your student’s needs. The survey should take 5-10 minutes to complete and your responses are anonymous. You can submit your survey until March 31, 2021.
We will use these survey responses to identify opportunities for improvement. Additionally, the state will report the results and the number of responses on Idaho’s new school report card (https://idahoschools.org/districts/002/profile).
Please log in to this anonymous survey at the link above, select your school from the drop-down list and complete the survey. If you have students attending more than one school and do not want to take the survey multiple times, please select the school attended by your oldest student. If you do not mind filling out the survey for each of the schools your students attend, please feel free to do so.
If you would like to preview the survey it can be found at the link below. To take the survey you must log in to the link above.
https://sde.idaho.gov/assessment/surveys/ Copies of the surveys are under the “Files” tab on this page.
Thank you in advance for your participation in this survey.

MESSAGES FROM OUR PTA ⭐
RESERVE YOUR YEARBOOK NOW!
Online ordering is not an option this year. However, you may send in cash, check, or money orders. All checks should be written to Paramount PTA, with "yearbook" on the memo line. If paying with cash, it must be the exact amount - change cannot be provided.
Seal payment and order form inside the envelope and return it to school with your child (Please write "PTA Yearbook" on the outside of the envelope).
It is difficult to estimate the exact cost of the yearbook as we must preorder them. Any extra money above the actual cost will be a donation to the PTA yearbook account to purchase additional cameras or needed supplies.
💦 ROARING READERS ARE BACK!
Information and reading logs will be sent home with your student. The reading logs are due MARCH 17, 2021.
What is Roaring Readers?
This year our school is participating in the Roaring Springs Waterpark Roaring Reader Program. By participating in this program, your child can earn a FREE day pass to Roaring Springs Waterpark! This program is designed to encourage children in elementary school to read for fun.
Every student who completes the required minutes of recreational reading before the school’s deadline of MARCH 17 is eligible for a free admission ticket. We hope that you have fun encouraging your child to reach this goal!
Here’s what you need to know:
- Students attending your elementary school in grades K-5 are eligible to participate. Students can only earn one ticket.
- Review the Roaring Reader Student Chart that your child brought home. Your child should use this sheet to record what and how long he/she reads. Please date and initial each reading session. If your child is in grades K-4 they must complete 600 minutes of recreational reading to be eligible for the free ticket. If your child is in grades 5-6 they must complete 800 minutes.
- Your child can read books, magazines, newspapers, or comic books. Reading for homework or a class assignment does not count. Remind your child to return the student chart to his/her teacher by the due date. LATE ENTRIES WILL NOT BE ACCEPTED.
