A Note from our Head of School

I cannot believe that another holiday season is upon us! It seems like the school year just started, and now we're almost halfway finished. It's been an interesting year so far, but we certainly have much to celebrate and for which to be grateful. In the midst of the holiday hustle and bustle, my hope is that you'll find moments of quiet reflection and your heart will be filled with peace.

We carry this same philosophy into the classrooms at Holy Trinity Montessori. Unlike some traditional classroom settings, you will not find lots of decorations, lights, or holiday items here. While we love those things and certainly encourage them outside of school, we choose to preserve the normal classroom environments during this season so that our young friends can work with as few distractions and disruptions as possible. We also emphasize the beauty of giving and encourage our friends to focus on blessing the people around them. Of course, there are plenty of opportunities to celebrate the season at school with crafts, books, activities, and even a visit from Saint Nicholas!

As we all look forward to another great Christmas season, I hope that you'll experience in your own heart the things that we value most at HTM: Peace, Knowledge, and Faith. Have a very Merry Christmas! -- Kate Riley

Gift Gala

Our famous Gift Gala is coming up this Friday! We are almost completely sold-out of tickets for this event, which is the most fun Ladies' Night you'll have all year! If you have not yet purchased a ticket and you want to come, please contact our office ASAP at If you've already gotten your ticket, make sure you bring six identical unwrapped gifts with you and show up to our Multi-Purpose Room at 6:30pm this Friday. This year we will enjoy a Mexican feast, margaritas and beer, gorgeous tablescapes, and of course a healthy dose of Christmas competition! Leave your spiky Stilettos at home and get your game face on...because some of these gifts are so amazing, you'll have to strategize about how to get them home. We can't wait to see all the ladies on Friday night!

Christmas Cookies & A Movie

Did you sign your child up for Christmas Cookies and a Movie? If not, there are still a couple of spots left! For $20/child, you can drop off your young one to decorate some cookies and watch a kid-friendly Christmas movie while you finish up some shopping. This event will be held at HTM on Sunday, 12/14 at 2pm. To sign up your child, send a check for $20 in his or her mailbag and write "Cookies" in the memo.

Wrap It Up!

Need some help from Santa's elves this year? At Art of Whine, we offered guests the opportunity to sign up for our expert gift-wrapping service, and we want to give you another chance to take advantage of it! For $20 per spot, you can get up to 10 standard-sized items beautifully wrapped in our coordinating paper and ribbon. We will feature an understated natural palette, using hand-stamped white and craft paper, burlap ribbon, raffia, and gorgeous pops of color from bright chartreuse or scarlet ribbon.

If you want to sign up, please send a check for $20 in your child's mailbag and write "Gift Wrapping" in the memo. Then plan to drop off your boxed/packaged items in a regular laundry basket with a numbered list that tells us each gift, the recipient, and the giver on Wednesday, December 17. Gifts will be wrapped and ready to go by 11am on Friday, December 19.
