Important Reminder: Panorama Survey Information for students in Grades 3 and 4
As you know, Shrewsbury has worked on several fronts this year to build and sustain cultures of belonging in all our school communities. To elicit feedback from students and families, we use a variety of tools to gather information. Collecting data digitally enables us to gather quantitative and qualitative measures of our progress in ways that feel safe. I am writing to inform you about the final administration of the Panorama survey this year.
As you may know, we have elected to work with Panorama, an education and technology company, to survey students about Social Emotional Learning, Equity & Inclusion. Our plan is to survey students in Grades 3 through 12 at school. You may recall that we used this tool earlier this year. A final administration will allow us to compare results to our baseline administration. You can read about the Panorama survey in detail here, including which questions students will be asked.
If you don’t want your child(ren) to participate, you may opt out of the survey. To opt your child out, please send an email to surveyoptout@shrewsbury.k12.ma.us no later than Thursday, May 19th. Students whose families opt them out will not participate in the survey.
Understanding the degree of belonging experienced by the members of our school communities is a key step in moving closer to realizing our goals for student well-being and becoming an inclusive, anti-racist school district.
Thanks for lending your support to this effort.
Sincerely,
Amy Clouter
Assistant Superintendent for Curriculum, Instruction & Assessment
Shrewsbury Elementary Art Festival- Spring 2022
***Please note that not all students will have their art work displayed at the Spring Art Show. Students whose art will be on display will be notified before the event/exhibit.
May All School Meeting at Beal School
If we are able to hold this event outdoors, we would like to invite our families to join us in this event. You are welcome to bring your blankets and lawn chairs and participate in our monthly community celebration. All are welcome!
Much like our field days, if the weather does not cooperate we will be holding our All School Meetings indoors and will have to postpone our community event to another date in the future.
REMINDER! 2022-2023 Bus Registration is Open
We are pleased to announce the official opening of the 2022-2023 bus registration process. The bus registration process will be open from now until June 30th. It will be closed from July 1st until early August and will re-open on approximately August 8th. We have 3 important messages to highlight here:
- Bus registration and payment must be done via the PowerSchool Parent Portal for students attending Shrewsbury Public Schools and via the Google Form for students attending Assabet Valley Reg. Technical High School and all private schools. There is no “processing charge/convenience fee” for online payment of the bus fee and both credit cards and debit cards are accepted.
- All of the regulations and rules pertaining to bus ridership eligibility and the requirement to pay a fee are posted on our website under the Transportation link. Please read them carefully and access the FAQ if you have questions.
- If your child has a negative food service account balance or owes a fee for some other additional service, then you will be blocked from bus registration until all overdue payments are made.
The bus fee for the 2022-2023 school year is $320/student with a $960 family cap. For all in-district students, please register now by clicking here. If your child will be attending Assabet or a private school located in Shrewsbury for the 2022-2023 school year, please click here.
