SUSD Update

Dear Anasazi Families,

At its November 4th meeting, the SUSD Governing Board approved instructional learning models for K-12 students for the spring semester, beginning Jan. 4, 2021.

Meeting Link: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=IqTr0PHgE5U

Start: 48:15

Finish: 3:25:38

All current Enhanced Distance Learning (EDL) and Scottsdale Online students (SOL) will receive a commitment form on November 6th to select a learning model for the spring semester with detailed information about the models. This form will contain a student-specific link. This selection is a commitment for a learning model for January through May 2021. Changes will only be made due to extenuating circumstances after requesting a model change through a formal process and will be based on availability.

In-person students will be scheduled to continue with in-person learning for the spring semester. No steps are needed to continue with in-person learning. Students who are learning on campus will not receive a second semester commitment form. However, if you would like to change from in-person learning to at-home learning in January, please email me by midnight on November 12th to request a model change.

Additional information and resources regarding the Semester 2 learning options are provided below. The video provides more specifics.

*Gifted PACT SOL and EDL families will receive a letter this weekend with additional information.

Thank you for your continued support,

Ms. Waldron

Starting in January there will be Early Release Wednesdays every week.

Want to get involved at Anasazi?

Each year our PTO does so much for our school community. Please reach out to PTO if you have any interest in serving in one of the following capacities:

TREASURER: The Treasurer is a member of the Board and shall keep and maintain recorded bookkeeping of all PTO bank transactions. This includes, but is not limited to, receiving and paying of approved charges, coordinating with at least one member to sit in during fund raising money counts and sign receipts verifying all fund raising monies have been accounted. The Treasurer will be responsible for receipts of deposits, balance of bank statements, compiling a monthly treasurer’s report for the PTO general meeting, balancing the accounting monthly books (Quickbooks), work to track online orders on Membership Toolkit and compiling information for the PTO tax return following the annual financial review of the books by an appointed Review Committee at the end of the fiscal year (fiscal year July 1st-June30th). THIS IS A PTO BOARD POSITION

MEMBERSHIP COORDINATOR: The Membership Coordinator shall organize the annual PTO membership drive, ensure that the donation gift is received, and the on-going process to encourage membership. Maintain membership records as defined by the PTO ByLaws.

ONLINE AUCTION COMPUTER ENTRY: PTO holds an online auction each year. We collect items such as gift cards for local businesses and online retailers. You would be responsible for inputting all the items and descriptions into the online platform that we use. We already have 1 volunteer and we are looking for 1 additional volunteer.

Notes from Nurse Renee

Just a reminder: Masks should be washed regularly and worn for just one school day. Our Anasazi students are active and their masks are getting soiled, inside and outside.

  • Include your mask with your regular laundry
  • Use regular laundry detergent and the warmest appropriate water setting for the cloth used to make the mask
  • Use the highest heat setting and leave in the dryer until completely dry

Need an option for free masks:

The Arizona Department of Health Services (ADHS) has partnered with Hanes to provide free face masks to those who need them. Anyone who is a student (or parents on behalf of students) or school staff member, or anyone who may not be able to purchase a mask, can order them at no cost. Each order will provide 5 washable, reusable cloth face masks, one order per household. To order your free masks on the ADHS website, click here Version OptionsK-12 Schools and Childcare Facilities Headline.
