Richmond Intermediate
Student Murals
We are so excited to have two new murals, created by Richmond students in the spring of 22-23, displayed in our halls! One mural is a self portrait of every 22-23 third grader and we will eventually add our current third graders to this! The other is a mural of the sun as it is represented in different cultures. Please be sure to take a look when you are here for Back to School Night on September 12th!
Student Leadership Opportunities
Did you know that students who participate in clubs and extra curricular activities in school feel a bigger sense of belonging and connectedness? We currently offer a variety of musical clubs such as orchestra, band and choir. Precision fitness club and chess club will soon be offered once a weekl. We also have student council and even a kindness club! Info on those clubs will be coming in a few weeks.
We also have some club opportunities that are offered during the day. One time per week on Fridays, students will meet at 7:45 a.m. (or when their bus drops them off) until 8:20 a.m. They will miss their Friday classroom morning meeting and their leadership club will take its place. We will offer the following clubs this year: Wellness (Fuel Up to Play 60), Patrol, Paparazzi and Video Production. If you are interested in your child participating, please complete the club application and turn it in by Tuesday, September 5th. A child can only be in one of the Friday morning clubs, but students could also sign up for other morning clubs, kindness club and student council while still being in a Friday club. Details and descriptions of clubs and an application can be found HERE. Paper copies were also sent home in your child’s backpack today.
Student Council
It is that time of year when the Student Council is looking for representatives for the 2023-2024 school year. We are seeking students who would like to contribute in making a positive impact in our school and St. Charles communities.
If students are interested, we ask that they write a paragraph to their teacher/class explaining why they want to be a Student Council representative and turn it into their classroom teacher by Tuesday, September 5th. The classroom teachers will choose 2 students to represent their class at our monthly meetings.
Before you express your interest, we would like to inform the student and families that there will be monthly meetings held before school. The meetings will be held from 7:15- 7:45 AM on the third Wednesday of the month (unless otherwise stated). The dates are as follows: 9/20, 10/18, 11/15, 12/20, 1/24, 2/21, 3/20, 4/17, and 5/15. Also, we are looking at additional opportunities for students to support the Richmond community.
