IEP Workshop with ECAC and WCPSS
Sponsored by Wake County PTA Council - SEIC
The highly popular IEP Workshop returns!
ECAC will present the morning session Writing Effective IEPs.
Most children and adolescents with disabilities need supports and services to become successful students. An important key to that success is an Individualized Education Program (IEP), designed to meet the child’s unique needs. IEPs include appropriate goals for the child and specific ways to provide supports and services, monitor progress and make changes whenever necessary.
Immediately following, WCPSS Family & Community Connections presents "Role"ing into Advocacy.
Parents are key members of the IEP Team with a specific role. This session will provide parents with tips for effective advocacy during the IEP meeting. Parents will learn how their collaboration provides valuable input into the development of their child's IEP. Parents know their child best and your school needs your input!
Light refreshments will be provided. Please note Respite/childcare will not be available.
