Vista del Valle Parent Newsletter

Vista del Valle
Principal's Message
We need your help! We want to know how to make Vista and our district the best place that it can be so please take time to fill out the Local Control Accountability Plan (LCAP) Survey.
https://www.surveymonkey.com/r/23Community
It's that time again... It's kindergarten registration time! Please communicate with neighbors or family with school age children that it is time to register their child. All registrations are done online through our district website at: https://claremont-ca.schoolloop.com/registrations
On Thursday, we will have a lock down drill. Attached to this newsletter is the notice that we send to advise families of this procedure. A hard copy of this letter will be sent home as well. Please take time to read the letter and talk to your child about this event. Preparing them alleviates potential fear or anxiety regarding this drill.
Just a friendly reminder that Heely's skate shoes are not allowed on campus. In order to keep everyone safe, please be sure that your child is not wearing these to school. If a child comes to school with skate shoes, parents will be called to bring an alternate pair of shoes to change into.
We have two holidays coming in the month of February: Monday, February 13th and Monday February 20th. Please mark your calendars.
Warmly,
Mrs. Nuanes

Attendance Matters!
If your child is not feeling well, you can check for a fever and/or check illness with a COVID test. If they are fever free or have a negative COVID test, please encourage your child to come to school. When students understand the importance of regular school attendance, they view school as important and will create healthy habits and expectations about school.
Please avoid scheduling doctor or dentist appointments during the school day as to not interrupt your child's learning. Keep in mind that family vacations during the school year, are unexecused absences. Together, we can help set your child up for success!
