Cystic Fibrosis
What is cystic Fibrosis?
A genetic disorder that affects the respiratory and digestive system. Which causes people to not grow properly because of improper nutrition. Built up of mucus.
How do people get the disease?
The disease is recessive which means it is passed down from both parents. If only one parent has the disease than the child will only carry the disease but, not actually have it.
Symptoms
- coughing
- wheezing
- Respiratory Illness
- loss of weight
When is it diagnosed?
People with the disease have twice as much salt in the skin. Doctors take sweat from patient and test to see how much salt is in the sweat.
Is there a cure?
No actual cure. Can be helped through physical therapy. Antibiotics can also help but, do not cure the disease.
