Instilling a love of reading within each child
Pack Your Bags!
This year your child will participate in a unique experience in the library. We will be reading our way around the world! Every 4-5 weeks we will visit different countries through nonfiction reading, multicultural folktales, virtual field trips, videos, photographs, and websites.
The goal of this year long program is to encourage your child to think beyond what they know and develop an appreciation of the world.
Reading Hall of Fame
1. Award Winning Reader - read 250,000 words
2. Rockstar Reader - read 550,000 words
3. All-Star Reader - read 850,000 and beyond
Word totals will be calculated through the Accelerated Reader (AR) program. Please encourage your child to take an AR test either in the library or in their classroom for their words to count. Your child can even test on books that YOU read to them!
