Carolina Springs Elementary

September 2022

From Mr. Brown

Hello Husky Families,

We have had a great start to the school year! It has been very exciting to welcome back our returning students and also being introduced to our new students. I have told many of our new students that I went to 4 elementary schools as a kid so I know what it is like being new to a school. So, welcome to our new families, welcome back to our established families and please reach out to me if you have any questions or concerns.

It is hard to believe that today is September 1st. I hope you are able to enjoy your first long weekend of the year with Monday being Labor Day. This holiday is typically known as the end of summer (even though we have already been in school for 3 weeks), so if you haven’t gotten into good school routines yet this year, now is the time to establish those at home. Children need consistent homework times, bedtimes with enough good sleep and wake up times to arrive at school on time. These home routines then create the optimal conditions at school for student academic and social growth.

We have some really fun activities this month, starting with Boosterthon beginning Tuesday when we return from the long weekend. We invite you to come to the Fun Run(s) on Wednesday, September 14, 2022. We will send out a schedule soon, but the exciting runs will be in the morning when it is not as hot!

Students will also be taking their benchmark assessments in the next few weeks so it is important to get to school on time each day. Attending school each day is very important for academic growth so I encourage students and parents to make sure that being at school and on time is a priority.

Let’s continue this motivation from our great start to school into a second great month of school.

It’s Grow Time Huskies!
