"Zz-Zebra"
A fifth grade student works with a kindergarten student in Ms. Hiott's class. Thank you to Ms. Hiott for accepting fifth graders into your classroom and thank you to Ms. Selle for setting this up and allowing this to happen!
"According to the sidebar on page 20..."
When I walked into Ms. Janicke's room this week she was literally in tears. She had this student repeat for me the answer to a question he was asked about the non-fiction text he is reading. His response included, "According to the sidebar on page 20..." What a use of text features and a great example of a student being able to support their responses within the text! Way to go Ms. Janicke and her class!
Students giving "shout-outs"
Check out the fourth grade hall. Outside each 4th grade classroom you will find a letter written by Ms. Rodger's first graders giving shout outs to the teachers' bulletin boards. What a great way to practice writing skills and instill school pride! Way to go Ms. Rodgers.
