REMINDERS FOR ASSESSMENT COORDINATORS
EVALUATING PROGRESS OF TESTLET COMPLETION
- Remember, shorter adaptive testlets are given to students across multiple one on one sessions to meet individual student needs.
- In Kite Educator Portal, go to the Reports tab, and Data Extracts and locate 'DLM Test Administration Monitoring'.
- Run the extract report to ensure teachers are completing testlets in a timely manner. For directions on using the report and evaluating the completion status click on the button below.
STUDENTS NOT SHOWING IN 'TEST ADMINISTRATION MONITORING' DATA EXTRACT
Students who are not rostered or who do not have a First Contact Survey (FCS) completed will not appear in the 'DLM Test Administration Monitoring' extract. To determine which component is preventing testlets from appearing in the portal and on the report, go to Kite Educator Portal, Reports tab, Data Extracts and use the 'Student Roster and First Contact Survey Status'. Depending on the report, PASA ACs will either:
- Need to roster students, OR
- Notify teachers of students with FCS not completed or not submitted and direct them to complete it.
SPECIAL CIRCUMSTANCE CODES
If a student will not be assessed (e.g., parent religious opt out), enter the Special Circumstances Code on one testlet in each subject area. Do not enter Extended Absence until you are certain that the student will be absent throughout the entire testing window. To access the Special Circumstance Codes, go to the PA DLM website or click on the button below.
PASA DLM DATA THAT DOES NOT MATCH PIMS
The State level team continues to send email notifications regarding students who are enrolled in Kite Educator Portal but who are not appearing in the preliminary PIMS accountability snapshot. Emails sent to PASA ACs will come from the state email address of alternateassessment@pattankop.net or PaTTAN regional consultants. Please review and act on the guidance in the emails. PASA ACs who receive an email notification about data mismatches must share this information with the PIMS data manager to make the needed corrections and ensure that all student testing counts. Please do not disregard the directions in the communications.
NOTE: Students who are not entered in PIMS - even if enrolled and tested via the Kite Portal - will not be counted in accountability determinations despite having taken the PASA.
Email notifications are also being sent to PASA ACs about grade mismatches between Kite Educator Portal and PIMS. Grade mismatches will invalidate a student’s test and trigger a test irregularity communication from the Bureau of Special Education. Please ensure that the grade in Educator Portal and in PIMS match the grade level on the student’s current IEP.
STUDENTS WHO ARE NOT ELIGIBLE OR HAVE MOVED
If students are no longer eligible for PASA or have moved, PASA ACs must exit them from the Kite Educator Portal by going to Settings-Students-Exit Student.
REQUIREMENTS, TIMELINES, & ATTRIBUTION RULES
All students must have testlets delivered and completed by May 5th.
- Extensions are not able to be granted.
- The testing process is completed if all testlets are completed or if there is a Special Circumstances Code entered for one testlet in each subject.
- Corrections to PIMS should be made as soon as possible to ensure that tests are valid and included in accountability determinations.
- If a student is placed in a non-PIMS reporting entity, is necessary for the district of residence to make corrections in PIMS.
- Remember that student participation rates and performance levels are attributed back to the district of residence/local education agency. To view PA Department of Education Attribution Map and Rules, click on the button below.
