Everyone is welcome to cheer on the runners Monday, October 28th**.

- 2nd & 3rd grades run at 10:35 a.m.
- Kindergarten & 1st grade runs at 11:40 a.m.
**WEATHER NOTE: There is a possibility of rain on Monday. We will monitor the weather forecast over the weekend and if a change needs to be made to an indoor run it may impact run times. We will send out a Beacon Blast over the weekend IF the Fun Run has moved indoors and notify parents of any time changes.**
We are also looking for parent volunteers to help our runners stay hydrated on the big Fun Run days! Please sign-up here if you can help.

Walk to School Wednesday Collection Challenge
November 6th is our next Walk to School Wednesday!
For November and December we are going to support our Western Wake Crisis Ministry neighbors with donations to their food pantry. To make it more interesting, we are issuing a collection challenge!
Let’s see whether Walkers, Carpool or Bus riders can collect more donations! Items like boxed macaroni & cheese or toilet paper are good options to donate. On November 6th, simply send in your donations with your child(ren) however they get to school and we'll see whether kids arriving on their feet, in their cars or on the bus brought in the most. The best part is that the real winners will be the Western Wake Crisis Ministry and all our neighbors they serve.
If your neighborhood is too far away to walk, you can still participate in Walk to School! Meet us at Kelly Road Park at 8:25 a.m. and walk with the group from there!
READvolution Update
Keep reading Clippers! We are currently ranked 48th among the 118 participating Wake County Elementary schools. Lots of our students are signed up, which is wonderful! Make sure you're logging your reading minutes every day!!
The READvolution challenge runs until Friday, November 22nd.
Questions? Please email OCE's READvolution coordinator Casey Lanier at cdlanier@wcpss.net.
Happy Reading and Go Canes!
