All Things Baker!
Principal's Message!
Hello All,
Thank you for another productive, creative, and inspiring week! I came across a quote this week and it struck a chord while I was thinking about how to maintain an attitude and culture that promote growth and progress!
Nothing great was ever achieved without enthusiasm.
-- Ralph Waldo Emerson
I love when I hear something that truly seems simple on its face. Just have enthusiasm, approach every situation with a sense of urgency and interest, be upbeat and willing! These are things that we can all choose to DO! But then I am hit with the realization that it is not at all simple or easy! As I spent time talking to my daughter at college last week, I realized how difficult it can be to be enthusiastic, upbeat, and/or interested. No, it was not the normal teenage angst, but the big struggles of dealing with a new place, new people, new responsibilities, new everything. Then she said to me, I just have to choose to be positive and excited! It was exactly what I needed to hear and this week has been 100% better for her! She knew she could not progress and grow without changing her outlook.
I choose to approach every situation, every conversation, every struggle with enthusiasm and positivity! I am so lucky to be here at Baker where I am surrounded with lots of little people that inspire my enthusiasm and positivity and are so excited to progress and grow!
Thank you all for your support and sharing your little people with us! Please remember, at Baker Elementary we believe In a World Where You Can Be Anything . . . Be Kind!
Sincerely,
Danielle Wallace

Storybook Pumpkin Time!
Your child is invited to create a storybook pumpkin to be displayed in the Baker library for the month of October! This is something that is optional and done at home. Your child can choose a character from a book and then transform a pumpkin into that character. There are examples attached to this email!
The storybook character pumpkin can be dropped off in the library anytime and will be displayed through October 31st! Please make sure that the pumpkin is picked up by Thursday, November 1st! We did have some pumpkins that went bad and we had to throw away before the month was over last year, so just be aware that the pumpkin may not be here to take back home. Some people did use plastic pumpkins, so that is always an option instead of a real pumpkin.
