Principal's Newsletter
From the Desk of Ms. Clark
August 30, 2018
Dear Parents,
A high level of excitement occurs with the opening day of school. Teachers anxiously await meeting their new class while returning students embrace the day with joy to see their friends again. New students anticipate meeting the teacher and other students while learning their way through a new school. Together, we form a circle of welcoming love. Sent to bring unity, let us build our community as we invite others into our lives.
Here are some suggestions to help ensure a successful school year for your child.
- Provide a study environment conducive to learning at home. Establish a regular homework time and have a quiet place for the child to study;
- Talk every day about the progress he/she is making in each class. When your child knows that you think school is important, he or she will take it more seriously;
- Discuss with your child how learning in school helps in everyday life;
- Be a good example yourself that learning is a lifelong process;
- Reinforce learning at home, in the community, and on vacations;
- Notice when your child completes homework and provide encouragement;
- Help your child stay calm and confident on test days;
- Teach your child to set goals;
- Read together at least once a week;
- Be realistic in your expectations;
- Encourage your child to talk to teachers if he/she does not understand an assignment;
- Make every effort to be actively involved in the child’s education and school;
- Recognize the teacher as an important partner in your child’s education and future; and,
- Remember that each parent and teacher share the same goal -- to help children love learning and to be successful.

It’s time to turn our summer rest into energy that will magically turn into the important work of Catholic education. We look forward to welcoming our children to school with all their enthusiasm anticipating a new school year! Enjoy the Labor Day weekend!
God’s blessings,
Ms. Clark
Lunch Monitors- Help Needed
Student Safety First
Please enter the morning drop-off car line with caution. The morning drop off is an express line; parents may not stop and get out of their cars. Students must exit from the PASSENGER SIDE only. Students MUST be ready to exit the car once pulling into the car line drop-off in order to eliminate back-up traffic. DO NOT DRIVE OUT OF THE CAR LINE. PLEASE WAIT FOR THE LINE TO MOVE SLOWLY TO EXIT.
If you need to bring your child into the school building, you MUST park your car in the front of the school and enter through the main school entrance. You must report to the office. No cars are permitted to park or idle in front of the school in the fire lane.
Raptor Visitor Management System
The Raptor System, which is used in many school districts including Council Rock, is a visitor management system. This system will better allow us to track visitors, volunteers, student late arrivals and early dismissals, and provide us with a more monitored environment for our students and staff. Please see the attached letter in your email regarding NEW procedures when visiting our school.
Attendance
Late Arrivals
Please make every effort to get your child to school on time. This teaches our students respect and courtesy along with an understanding of the importance of being on time. When a child is late, it disrupts the morning routines of the classroom and often the child becomes overwhelmed.
