At Quartz Lake on Sunday, January 1, 2016
Join Us At Our 5th annual Local Chapter Of This National Event!
Alaska State Parks , Delta Junction Trails Association and the Delta Nordic/ Ski Club encourages the public to join them on Jan. 1 for a one-mile ski/hike/snowshoe at the Quartz Lake State Recreation Area. The event is inspired by a national “First Day Hike” initiative to connect people to their state parks in all 50 states.
“We want to start the year off right to help people with their New Year’s resolutions,” said Bill Kiger, manager for Interpretation and Education for the Division of Parks and Outdoor Recreation. “This is the first step in doing the physical activity we all pledge to do in the New Year.”
