Mad Science at Pleasant Street for Two Assemblies
We were fortunate to have two Mad Science programs at our school on February 12th sponsored by our school PTO. One presentation was for preschool, kindergarten, and grade one students, and a second show was offered for second through fourth grade students. The instructor, "Professor Micron," was highly entertaining as he demonstrated how fun it is to learn about science and scientific principles. He also addressed the importance of being safe while experimenting.

In case you missed it last week we wanted to include this short video from our Sock Hop held on Feb. 12th. It was a such a fun night with children and parents alike dancing to music from the 50's and 60's in our beautifully decorated cafe.
We are pleased to report our student council raised about $120 from snack bar sales and donated hand crafted bracelets to benefit the American Childhood Cancer fund.
February is Black History Month
Our month long celebration of Black History month will be concluding soon. We have included some websites and resources linked below to explore and to share with your children. The Reading Rockets site, in particular, has recommended children's books, family activities, interviews, writing prompts, and more. This is a wonderful way to spend family time and to enhance your child or children's background knowledge of our larger community and world.
Free Breakfast & Lunch
