Piwakawaka Team exploring our very own wetlands!

Last Friday Piwakawaka Team ventured out and got amongst the Autumn magic that is happening in the Wetlands. We try to do this activity every year so that our students learn to appreciate this wonderful space, right on our doorstep. After our walk, we use our experiences as a theme in our class learning programmes. Watch out for some amazing stories and artwork from Rooms 10 and 11 over the next few weeks.

My Movie 2

Our deepest sympathy and thoughts go out to the family of Mr Gordon Maisey and the St Joseph’s School Community. Gordon, who sadly passed away last Friday, will be remembered fondly for his service to St Joseph’s School and as a driver for Turley Motors over many years.

Indoor Bowls with Mr Lowe

It was wonderful to welcome Mr Lowe back to Stanley Avenue School on Tuesday. Mr Lowe has been teaching our students to play indoor bowls for the past 14 years. He is very passionate about the game he loves and is always available to pass on his skills and give out friendly advice. We had 30 or so Year 5-8 students come along at lunch time and have a go, with a place in the tournament teams the ultimate goal. Stanley Ave School send 2 teams to a District Schools Tournament in Term 3 as well as a team to Winter Olympics at Totara Springs.

Pie Fundraiser!!!!

Wow. What a response.

We have had just over $8000 worth of pies ordered this week. They will be delivered next Thursday 20th May at about 11.30 am and after sorting, will be available for collection from Room 3 from 2 pm.

Thank you to our amazing school community!
