Sablatura Middle School Library
Library Lessons During October
This month Mrs. Foreman will be sharing a book with our students, The Most Magnificent Thing by Ashley Spires. After reading this book, she will review the meaning of GRIT and will talk about the difference between Growth and Fixed Mindset.
The first week of October was Mystery Series Week. Mrs. Foreman will be discussing some of our popular mystery series from the library. The students will then participate in a reader's theater from one of this year's Bluebonnet books, The Ghosts of Tupelo Landing by Shelia Turnage.
Later this month, students will be learning about the databases that our library subscribes to, as well as getting bookmarks with all of the passwords for each database.
Teacher Book Club
Our teacher book club has started a new book. We will meet the week before Thanksgiving Break. If you would like to join, stop by the library to pick up a copy of the book.
New Curtains in the Library
A big shout-out to Mr. Williamson for recruiting some sewers from the sewing mini-course to help make new curtains for the library.
Global Read Aloud
Several of our reading classes are participating in this year's Global Read Aloud. Many classes connected with classrooms across the country via Skype or Google Hangout. Our classes are reading Fish in a Tree by Lynda Mullay Hunt.
