Can it be 2016 Already?
January, 2016
Welcome Back!
A big hello to everyone and welcome back after a wonderful Christmas break. Thank you all so much for your kind outpouring of love and generosity at Christmas time. Each and every gift and kind wish was wonderful and touched my heart. I am grateful for each of your children and look forward to a wonderful 2nd semester!
I also wanted to thank you all for your support and flexibility as the month has progressed and we have had school closings due to the water main break. You are all awesome and I am most appreciative! Please be sure to let me know if you have questions, comments or are looking for clarification as the year progresses. Have a lovely day!
Winter Music Performance is Coming Up!
Please mark your calendar for the Winter Music Concert on Wednesday, January 20! Students should be in their homeroom classroom no later than 6:30pm, and the performance begins at 7:00pm. Mrs. Duncan always does a great job with the students and I am sure that you will not be disappointed. All children need reminders, so please speak with your child about being sure to smile, sing out and paying attention to Mrs. Duncan! It should be a wonderful performance!
MInion Movie Day!
6A earned a Minion Movie Day earlier in the year during our magazine drive! We are planning to use Monday, January 25, from 8:00 to 9:30 for that activity. The school provides popcorn and mini water bottles. Several students have asked if they could supplement this snack with more snacks. I am okay with parents bringing snacks as long as everyone understands that this is optional. The snacks should be individually wrapped and easy to pass out. We will not be able to have sodas or juice boxes and will need to stick with the water bottles for drinks. Please let me know if you would like to bring in an optional snack for the class. Thank you!
Where are we in Religion class?
We are finishing the Nativity Story movie and filling in a questionnaire that will help students to remember important information about the struggle Mary and Joseph had to face in order to fulfill God's Will in their lives. They also will see cities and terrain that will put the journey of more than 100 miles from Nazareth to Bethlehem in perspective. After this we will begin a study of Abraham and the Patriarchs!
Reconciliation Service coming up!
The Jr. High will participate in a Reconciliation Service on Wednesday, March 9. Please encourage your child to prayerfully prepare themselves for this sacrament, so that they can receive all of the graces available with a worthy confession! The video link below will give your family a fun way to remember how important Reconciliation is!
