Preparing for the Winter MAP Assessment
In the month of January, your child will take the same assessment they did at the beginning of the year for both reading and math to measure the growth they've made so far this year. The MAP assessment is given nationwide and adapts to each child's individual performance in the moment. School staff use this data to identify areas students perform well in, and areas students need additional practice with. Please encourage your child to try their best!
Character Trait of the Month: Responsibility
The character trait for the month of January is RESPONSIBILITY. Being responsible looks like taking ownership for our actions, apologizing when we are in the wrong, and making an effort to correct the situation moving forward. It also looks like taking care of our belongings and the spaces we inhabit. You can talk with your child about what it means to be responsible at home, and at school.
