SJN Celebrates Red Ribbon Week!
Oct. 29 - Nov. 2
Red Ribbon Week 2018
What is Red Ribbon Week?
Since its beginning in 1985, the Red Ribbon has touched the lives of millions of people around the world. In response to the murder of DEA Agent Enrique Camarena, angered parents and youth in communities across the country began wearing Red Ribbons as a symbol of their commitment to raise awareness of the killing and destruction cause by drugs in America. The first National Red Ribbon Celebration occurred in 1988. Today, the Red Ribbon serves as a catalyst to mobilize communities to educate youth and encourage participation in drug prevention activities. St. John Nepomuk Catholic School will celebrate Red Ribbon Week during the week of October 29, and students will show their support for a DRUG FREE AMERICA. Each day will have a specific theme for students to dress up and show that they are proud to be drug free.
