I can't believe that it is the last week of the 2020- 2021 school year! It has been exceptional in so many ways. Thank you for all that you've done to work with us through this school year. The York Center staff and I frequently discuss the gratitude that we have for our families. We are so fortunate to be a part of a strong, hardworking, and kind community. We see the perseverance, resilience, and understanding that you are modeling at home reflected in how our Lions approach every day and every new change and challenge. So, thank you, thank you, thank you!
We are eagerly preparing for the school year next year with the guidelines we have. As we all know, it's impossible to predict the future. Whatever comes our way, we will get through it together!
Please don't hesitate to contact me if you have any questions or concerns.
Kind regards,
Andrea Derdenger, Principal

Dear Parents/Guardians,
As the school year is coming to an end, the District would like to provide you with a quick update on Chromebooks and Hotspots. Thank you for your continued support of technology use in our District. We used our devices more than ever this past year and we appreciate all that you did to keep our students learning remotely.
Chromebooks
Returning D45 students will keep district issued Chromebooks over the summer.
- The Chromebook should be ready for use on the first day of the 2021-2022 school year and this Chromebook Summer Care provides the information on what needs to be done.
- We encourage our students to limit time on screens during the summer. All Chromebook activity will continue to be filtered and logged. However, the District will not be actively monitoring the activity until school resumes.
- If your family is moving or will not be attending a D45 school in the fall, contact your school office to make arrangements to turn in the device and charger.
- Students with Chromebook issues should turn their device in for repair over the summer. The device will be returned at the beginning of school in August.
- If the Chromebook needs repair, please contact technology by emailing support@d45.org, calling (630) 516-7575, or texting (630) 454-7745. Chromebook loaners will not be provided during the summer.
Eighth grade students need to turn in their district issued Chromebooks and chargers to their school on the last day of 8th grade attendance. Remote 8th grade students should bring their Chromebooks and chargers to their promotional exercise at their school.
Hotspots
All hotspots need to be returned by the end of this school year. Please either drop the device and charger off at the school’s front office, the District 45 Administration Office, or have your child deliver the device to their teacher directly.
Sincerely,
Mike Pinney
Chief Information Officer
Library Books & Chromebooks
All library books should be returned by TOMORROW! Remote students can bring them to the office or leave books in the plastic bin outside of the office.
If students have moved or do not want to keep their Chromebooks during the summer they can be returned on the last day of school 5/28 in the office.
If a student has a tech issue over the summer, they can drop off their device at Central Office for repair however will not be issued a loaner.

Physicals for 2021-2022 6th Graders
All incoming 6th graders must have a new physical for 6th grade entry.
Please take the physical form with you to your doctor. The form is from the State of Illinois Department of Human Services – be sure this is the one your doctor uses – old physical forms will not be accepted. Check to be sure all immunizations are completed and have your doctor sign and date before you leave the office. All students starting 6th grade must have had one Tdap, 2 Varicella, 2 MMR, one Meningococcal immunization and completed their Hepatitis B series.
As a reminder, the Health History is a part of the student physical, be sure to have this section completed and signed by a parent.
***Make your summer care-free and turn in the physical to the elementary school before the end of this school year!
Please feel free to call if you have any questions at 630-516-7829.
Thank you,
Alina Stevens
