Students of the Month

Congratulations to Addi and Lauren for showing Safety this month! Lauren and Addi will eat lunch on stage with Mrs. Curran, Mrs. Fiesbeck, and Mrs. Koers on May 18th!

Plant Life Cycles!

Thursday we invited a Master Gardener in to help us learn about plant life cycles. She taught students how plants rely on animals to complete their life cycle and also taught students the motions to help them remember each part of the cycle! It was such an amazing experience and so cool to learn from an EXPERT.

We are Learning...

Reading: To keep things cohesive, I have decided to lengthen our poetry unit! This unit will match what we are working on in writing! We will discuss more figurative language, theme, and mood of a poem

Math: We are learning about data and graphs. Students will learn how to record data and use it to make multiple types of graphs.

Writing: We will be learning how to write various poems styles. At the end of the unity, students will have a complete Poetry Book. At the end of the unit, we will celebrate poetry and all of our hard work by having a poetry cafe!

Science: We will begin our unit on Engineering. Students will be asked to think like scientists in order to design a tool that meets a specific need. The materials for the tool must be reusable so they will use 21st century skills (collaboration, communication, creativity, and critical thinking) to create innovative uses for previously used materials and objects. We will also continue with life cycles!
