Principal Message
Thank you again for all of your patience and feedback as we have navigated preparing a reopening plan. After careful and prudent consultation with the Erie County Health Department and recommendations and guidelines from the CDC, State of Ohio, and Diocese of Toledo, the reopening plan has been reviewed, revised, and is available. As stated previously, the goal, as of today, is to return to a five-day in-person school. However, the plan also establishes contingencies in the event the school needs to adjust to any mandates and/or extenuating circumstances that may impact the school. This school year will require us all to practice patience and flexibility as changes to the plan may be needed at any given moment. I will continue to work in close consultation with Parish Leadership, Erie County Health Department, and the Diocese of Toledo to provide the safest possible learning environment and deliver an exceptional, Catholic education to our students. If there are questions regarding the plan, please submit them using the Google Form at the end of the reopening presentation and I will compile them and answer them in the most conducive format regarding the amount of questions and frequency.
With the need for flexibility during this school year, there are several items that I need families to check on. In this newsletter are instructions for Final Forms. Please ensure that you have completed Final Forms registration and have up-to-date contact information. There is also a transportation survey, please take a moment and complete this. I am also looking into adding another avenue of communication for our families. More information will come next week for this communication platform.
Last week I updated that we were in the hiring process and hopeful to resolve that search. However, we are still in the hiring process for our two open positions. As soon as a hire is made for those positions, I will communicate that out to families and the community.
Lastly, as we enter the new school year and adjust to the changes and navigating education in the age of a pandemic, there will likely be questions. Therefore it is important to follow the expected chain of communication. I ask that questions pertaining to the school, that is school level concerns and questions, be brought directly to my attention. Questions and concerns regarding individual classroom instruction, grading, procedures, and expectations please email with your child's teacher. This will ensure clear and timely communication.
Thank you,
George Mitchell
