Free and Reduced Lunch

Please see informational video below about registering for the free and reduced lunch program.

Laptop Breakage

We have seen a rise in the amount of screen breaks for student laptops. Our policy covers for 2 broken screens per device. If your child’s laptop screen breaks 3 times, we will be required to send you an invoice for the repair and labor. The current cost for this is $200. Please remind your child to care for their laptops. Some simple steps to assist are:

  • Use two hands when holding or moving the device.
  • Use clean hands while using the laptop or iPad.
  • Use only the provided digital pen or finger on the screen.
  • Use only the power adapter that came with the device.
  • Use a microfiber cloth to clean the screen.
  • Keep device stored in the provided case. This includes traveling through the hallways, on buses, or anytime the device is not being utilized.
  • Make sure nothing is on the keyboard, close the lid, and remove all cables if any are plugged into the laptop. Place laptop in your bag carefully.
  • Be careful when placing your case on the floor. Keep the device off the floor so screens do not get stepped on by others.

PSSA Individual Student Reports (ISR)

Dear Parents of a 4th - 6th grade student,

On Thursday, October 20, the 2022 PSSA Individual Student Report (ISR) will be sent home in a sealed envelope with your 4th - 6th grade child. The assessment was administered in grades 3-6 in English Language Arts and Mathematics, and grade 4 in Science during the 2021-22 school year.

If your child receives a blank report, that is an indication that your child did not take the assessment. Additionally, you will not receive a report if your child was not a student at Titus Elementary School during the 2021-2022 school year.

If you have any questions about this information, please feel free to reach out to me. We value your continuous support of your child's learning.

Sincerely,

Mrs. Bridget Pustay

Titus Elementary Principal

Titus Wall of Honor

In November, the windows of the rotunda will be filled with pictures of United States military personnel. If you have a family member who served or is currently serving in any branch of the United States military, please scan and email a picture of them (picture size 4x6 or smaller) along with the information below. Pictures need to be emailed to Mrs. Schorpp hniemeyerschorpp@cbsd.org marked Wall of Honor by Friday, October 21st. Thank you! Please note that if you sent in a picture in a previous year, you do not need to resend it. We keep them from year to year; however, if the child who initially brought in the photo has moved on to middle school, we may not have a copy of the picture. If you need to update any information, such as additional children now attending Titus, or to check if we have the picture, please email Mrs. Schorpp at hniemeyerschorpp@cbsd.org Thank you!! Note: If your picture is turned in after the deadline, we cannot guarantee that it will make this year’s Wall of Honor or Photo Story slide show.

Veteran's Day Assembly

We are excited to announce that we will once again be holding an all-school Veterans Day assembly on the morning of Friday, November 11th. We invite any active or retired military members who are family members of Titus students to start their day with us. As we gather as a school to learn about this important day, we simply want to honor the veterans in our families. Additional information including time and how to sign up will be in next week's Tiger Times.

Halloween Parade and Classroom Parties - October 31st

Titus's Annual Halloween Parade will take place on Monday, October 31st at 9:30am. In the event of rain, the parade will take place inside and unfortunately we do not have enough room in the building to accommodate all our visitors. Students may wear their costumes to school. Please make sure that all costumes are appropriate for school along with accessories.

Classroom parties will take place immediately following the parade and will conclude between 10:45 and 11am in order to prepare for kindergarten dismissal. Classroom coordinators and classroom teachers will reach out with more specific information.

Parent volunteers must check in with the main office when they arrive and must have the proper clearances. Our classroom teachers will communicate specific party information to these helpers. Thank you in advance for your time on this day.

K-6 Health Curriculum: A.T.O.D

Dear Parents/Guardians:

As part of the Central Bucks School District Elementary Health Curriculum, a unit entitled Alcohol, Tobacco, and Other Drugs is taught to pupils in grades K-6. The primary purpose of this program is to educate the children on the negative impacts of tobacco, alcohol, and other drugs, as well as the impact of negative peer influences.

Your child’s teacher will teach researched-based lessons developed by Central Bucks teachers and certified school nurses. In order to deliver a consistent, cohesive curriculum, all Central Bucks teachers will deliver this curriculum during Red Ribbon Week, October 17, 2022-October 28, 2022. Course level goals and objectives can be found on the school district’s website: http://www.cbsd.org/Page/1497

Should parents wish to have their child excused from the program, they should send a written request to the attention of the principal.

As always, please do not hesitate to call with any questions.

Sincerely,

Mrs. Pustay

DON'T FORGET CLEARANCES ...

Titus will expect all potential volunteers to complete their paperwork for clearances prior to assuming any volunteer/chaperone role within the school. This will ensure we are in line with district and state expectations.

Who Needs Clearances: An individual who is responsible for the child's welfare or has direct contact with children. Pennsylvania law requires all persons having direct contact with school children to obtain background checks and clearances. In the best interest of the safety and security of our students, Central Bucks School District required the submission of these clearances prior to volunteering during the school year. Approved volunteers are given an identification card to be presented at the school (along with your photo ID, such as a driver's license) when volunteering. Please allow 7-10 days after you have submitted your online application for receipt of the ID card.

Additional information and steps on how to complete your clearances can be found on our district website by clicking here.
