What to expect now...this week's rehearsals...
Rehearsal on Monday is only for a small group of actors. Middle Anna & Anna, Middle Elsa & Elsa, Olaf, Krostoff, King, Queen, Sven & Hans. There are NO LATE BUSES. Please arrange for a ride home, or do not stay if you don't have a ride.
Tuesday we will be staging the opening. Please take some time to review music and lines the night before a rehearsal. The youtube video is below.
Thursday is the second Tech Thursday. CREW, Middle Anna & Anna, Middle Elsa & Elsa, Olaf, Kroistoff, Sven, Hans & SNOW DANCERS should attend. We will be singing and dancing.
Please remember, if we work on something at rehearsal the expectation is that it will be memorized for the next rehearsal. Luckily you seem to be memorizing at rehearsal, so this shouldn't be a big deal!
Crew...
Congratulations on an impressive first Tech Thursday! It it important that you learn the skills Kyle is teaching you on Thursday's so that you will be prepared to run the show in December. If you cannot stay focused on the activities we will have to ask you to stay home. Thanks for understanding.
Our next Tech Thursday is October 10th.
Commitment to FROZEN Jr.
Please remember that all cast and crew are expected to keep up with their school work. School comes first! If you require extra help please see your teachers from 2:30-2:55 and then come to rehearsal.
Costumes & Shoes!
Please do not purchase shoes until after we meet with Brian, the Costumer. Some of the roles will have different shoe requirements for the show. For example; Elsa, Snow Dancers, some of the men, Olaf, and a few others.
Also, please begin to think about undergarments. With most of the cast in 3 and 4 roles, the cast will need to change quickly backstage. Wearing a tan tank top, shorts, leotard or something similar will help the cast feel more comfortable changing in front of each other backstage.
The really important stuff...SNACKS!
Thanks to everyone who has signed up and brought in a snack this week! The Sign-Up Genius is almost full!! If you haven't signed up please take a minute and check it out.
Sharing snacks has become a very special part of our rehearsals at Cameron. We are able to get to know each other, take a break and reset before rehearsals begin. Eating together as a group builds community.
Snacks can be sent into school with your child in the morning, they can bring snacks to the Drama Room or snacks can be dropped off at the office during the day. Thanks to the families who have already signed up! There are already snacks that have been dropped off! I am grateful for all of your support!
Snacks do not need to be anything specific. Popular snacks are Cheez-Its, pretzels, chips, clementines and cookies. However, having different snacks on different days is nice too.
All cast and crew will bring their own water to rehearsal everyday. If your child has an allergy or food restrictions please provide your own snack for your child.
Please review the Sign-Up Genius and sign up for a slot or two! If everyone signs up for two dates we should have plenty of snacks. Thanks so much!
Sensory Friendly Performance
Cameron Drama Company is proud to present a sensory-friendly performance of Disney's Frozen, Jr. at 5 pm on Thursday, December 12, for families with children and adults on the autism spectrum and other developmental disabilities. The musical is performed in a friendly, supportive environment with slight adjustments to the production, including the reduction of any jarring sounds or lights focused into the audience area. The cafeteria will be set up with a small, quiet and play area, if family members need to leave their seats during the performance.
For this special performance, no-cost, limited seating is available to individuals and families with developmental disabilities. To get your free tickets to this show, please reserve tickets here. For additional information regarding our Sensory-Friendly Performance, please contact Teri Shea at tshea@framingham.k12.ma.us.
There will be more details to follow but here are a few things to know...
- We will have a Autism and Sensory training for the cast and crew
- There will be slight modifications to the performance to make it more accessible and comfortable for the audience.
- We will have the puppets available in the lobby before the show begins
- We will have a short introduction from the stage
- ...and much more.
We are just beginning this exciting new program in Framingham. I have produced Sensory Friendly performances with a community theater and at Fuller for students within Framingham Public Schools during the school day, however this is our first attempt at a Community based performance. I am working closely with Rochelle Santos, the Media & Communications Manager with the Framingham Public Schools to find community partners to help us with the outreach and a few of the details.
This should be very exciting and a great way to share our theater with an audience who might not have felt comfortable to attend one of out traditional performances.
Directing Team!
We have a HUGE Directing Team this year! Frozen Jr. is going to be an elaborate production and we need lots of adults to help pull it all together!
