Principal's Post - A Weekly Note From Mr. Ortman
Mill Creek Families,
Last week our sixth grade students went to Elbow Lane to participate in the Ropes Course. They had to work together and use the CREEKERS' Code traits to challenge themselves individually and as a team. The Ropes Course instructors helped the students brainstorm strategies and connect their outdoor learning back to Mill Creek.
The sixth graders and staff members made Mill Creek proud, and they learned a lot of valuable lessons!
Enjoy the weekend!!!
Sincerely,
Shawn M. Ortman
Principal

Happy Friday Creekers!
This week Ella turned 1! Its amazing how fast a year flew by. Time passing quickly is a constant reminder when working with students, as they make so much growth each day and year.
This week, I thank our community, parents, teachers, and students for all of your time and effort! I am proud to be a Creeker!
Sincerely,
Mrs. Amy Adelman
Assistant Principal
Veteran's Day
In honor of Veteran’s Day, the Mill Creek students and staff will be creating a Veteran's Wall of Honor. This is our fourth year creating a visual honor.
If you are new to Mill Creek or did not participate in the last few years, please read below to find out more about our Veteran's Wall of Honor.
If you have a family member who served or is currently serving in any branch of the military, please send in a picture of him or her, along with the person's name, branch of service, wars fought (if any), student's name and relationship to veteran, and homeroom teacher on the back of the photograph. Pictures will be returned after Veteran’s day. Pictures need to be sent to the office by Monday, October 29th! Thank you!
Please note all pictures that were sent in over the last three years will be displayed again this year! You do not have to send in the pictures again - unless you have new pictures you would like to have displayed.
We are also conducting a school wide letter writing campaign to thank our local heroes on Veterans’ Day. Students at Mill Creek want all our nation’s heroes to know how much we appreciate their service to our country. Letters are a meaningful way for our students to demonstrate support and our debt of gratitude for those who served and are presently serving our country.
To support our “local heroes,” we are requesting the names and addresses of any family members who are on active duty or retired members of the armed forces. Complete the form (Click here) with the appropriate information if you wish to participate. Please confirm the spelling of both name and address of the veteran before submitting. Form(s) are due no later than 11/2/18. Please submit a separate form for each veteran. Thank you for your support!
