HALO HIGHLIGHT - SAINTS AMONG US
Dear Saints Parents,
We begin this edition of Halo Notes with a new monthly segment where we will recognize members of the Saints community who go above and beyond to model the example of Christ. The Parent Guild will reward honorees with a certificate and a gift card, and anyone is welcome to send us a nomination by filling out this quick form.
Coach Cord Larsen was seen changing a flat tire for a student after practice two weeks ago. Not only was the tire flat, but so was the spare, and the jack wouldn't work properly. Coach Larsen saved the day by using his own equipment and advised the student to go straight to the repair shop. A member of the community witnessed this act of kindness. Way to go, Coach Larsen, for putting love and service into action and being a true Saint Among Us!

Academic Updates
Ask your child about their progress in each class using the Student Grade Calculator. This tool was provided to all students during Math class with guidance on how to use it to predict their final grade for the year. Students who are in danger of failing are meeting with their counselor or Ms. Orgeron in the coming weeks. Notification of such will also be sent by mail after Q3 Progress Reports. If you have any questions or need guidance, feel free to contact us. We are here for each of you!
Our Academic Study Hall schedule for the last week of January is as follows: Jan. 28 and 31 (Monday and Thursday) from 5:30-7 p.m. in the Cafeteria. Athletes with a D or below in any subject are required to attend.

I have said all year long how special the program is, boys and girls," Oertling said. "This may be a coaching accomplishment, but I feel so fortunate to be around a group of kids like this.” Read more.

It is crucial to build our Saints band program from partner schools up. If you would like to help or you have any questions, please contact bgilbert@slchs.org for more information.
The Landry Library also received a grant from the Junior League for $1,302.16 for a Library Dream Space, which is a space for students to come in before school, during lunch and after school to unplug and reboot.
