Brooker Creek Elementary
Home of the Bobcats
Hello Brooker Creek Families,
It has been a great week back from Spring Break. We saw many refreshed and tanned faces come back ready to get back to work.
Next Wednesday marks the end of the 3rd quarter of the school year. There is no school for students next Thursday, April 1st or Friday, April 2nd. We will kick-off the start of our final quarter of the 2020-2021 school year on Monday, April 5th.
The last quarter of the year also brings about our state testing for our 3rd - 5th graders and final MAP testing in all grades. The daily testing schedule is included below for FSA testing. MyPCS families will be contacted regarding testing as we hope to see all of our MyPCS students on campus for state testing. There will be no testing at home for FSA.
Lastly, we wanted to let you know that Ready Classroom Mathematics is offering two virtual parent nights to support you in helping your child become a strong, independent thinker. The player and login information are included below. Both sessions will cover the same information.
Have a wonderful weekend!
Sincerely,
Jenn Mekler, Principal

March Classroom Character Kids
Congratulations to all!
Consistently there to lend a hand, give a compliment, or tell you just how much she "LOVES" school, Emery Chuong is a true delight! She is Mrs. Crim’s pick for Character Kid for all these qualities and more. It is her pleasure to provide Emery with activities that challenge and enrich her love for learning. She is kind and helpful to her friends and instructors, loves music, pe, and especially art classes. In addition, Emery is well behaved and well-liked by all.
Congratulations Emery for just being "YOU!" We love you that way!
Mrs. McSunas' Classroom Character Kid award goes to Juliana Sonetirot. Juliana is one of a kind. She starts every day with a hearty greeting. She gets right to work and is not afraid to tackle any challenge. Juliana is respectful to adults at Brooker Creek. She is responsible, honest, motivated, and above all kind. After the terrible accident on Keystone Road, Juliana and her mother passed out water to stranded people stuck in their cars. Juliana’s heart is tremendous in size for such a little girl! She is the youngest in her family and loves her brothers very much. Juliana also excels at gymnastics and Mrs. McSunas is so proud to select her as her Classroom Character Kid this school year!
Bryce Glatczak is Mrs. McMullen’s Classroom Character Kid! He comes to school each day with a positive mindset and ready to learn. Bryce sets an example of excellence for all his peers in and out of the classroom. He is respectful, honest, caring, and responsible. Bryce puts others first and is always willing to help a classmate or teacher. He puts forth his best effort and perseveres when faced with a challenge. Mrs. McMullen can always count on Bryce to share his work or explain how he solved a problem. She is proud of Bryce’s hard work and accomplishments in 2nd grade. Keep up the great work!
Choosing a Character Kid has always been difficult for Mrs. Vinyard because we have so many amazing kids at Brooker Creek! This year she did something unprecedented and asked the kids to vote for the student in her class that is the best role model to represent their class. It was a landslide, and Mrs. Vinyard is so proud of her class for recognizing this student for her great character! She is honored to nominate Isabel Brotten for her Classroom Character Kid. Isabel is compassionate, hard-working, and a friend to all. Congratulations, Isabel!
Mrs. Hite’s Classroom Character Kid is Lena Brown! She is an amazing young lady! Lena works extremely hard at everything she does. She never gives up nor ever has a bad attitude. Lena is a friend to all and helps those in need. Other students know she is a “go-to” person for help and she always graciously helps them. Congratulations, Lena!
