WOODLAND: STRONGER TOGETHER
GRATEFUL. KIND. STRONG: WE ARE WOODLAND!
A Fawn is Born!
Woodland Students:
Something amazing happened at Woodland! While you were gone, a deer gave birth to a baby fawn right near the Kindergarten classrooms!! When fawns are born they cannot walk right away so the mother had to leave it there. Don’t worry she came back at night to feed it. Once the fawn was able to stand he/she walked into the woods with its mother so they could live in their new home. Such exciting news, right?
I thought it might be fun, since the fawn was born on Woodland school property, for us to give it an official name. If you open the link you can see photos of the fawn and can vote for your favorite name. All votes are due by June 4th. The fawns new name will be announced on June 5th, can’t wait!!
Some Woodland staff members may be waving good-bye during the student material pick up and drop-off times on 6/8 and 6/9. Please understand that not all staff can attend. Remember, you are staying in your cars (unless trunk does not open from inside) and not approaching the staff!

Google Classrooms for the Last Two Weeks!
On Friday, 6/5, Woodland teachers will post fun, review, closure activities for students in their Google Classroom. No new skills will be presented, just wrap up activities that kids can work through for the week of 6/8 – 6/12 if they desire. Please make sure you check it out on Friday or over the weekend if you are returning your Chrome Books on Monday or Tuesday!

Were You in Chess Club This Year?
As you are aware, school ended while we were having our chess tournament. Those players who were NOT yet eliminated will have a chance to finish the competition when we return to school. This includes 4th graders! Fourth, third, and second grade finalists are encouraged to email Mr. McDonough to express interest at dmcdonough@methacton.org. Please do this the first week of the next school year, so I can coordinate a meeting time after the school day ends to finish the tournament.
I look forward to hearing from you.
