Sunday Shakedown
Weekly Memo for Washington Elementary
Principal Post
For Your Information:
- From Michelle: Just a reminder that we have to do hand written attendance the first two weeks. I will have prepared the forms for this with instructions and have them in your box by Monday morning. Please read the instructions and make sure that you match each child’s face with a name. I know that it takes a little time but these numbers go to the state.
- All Moodle online trainings are due by August 1, with the exception of the suicide training for IAs your's is due Sept. 1. Michelle B gets all the certificates.
- Third grade teachers will be given the laptops that were used last year. There will be enough to allow one per student.
- In the cafeteria, students will be asked to fill one side of the cafeteria first and then gradually add the other if needed. This allows tables to be cleaned when the next group comes in and there is no need to wait. LCA tried this last year and it worked very well.
- Fridays are grade-level RACE days on weeks when we have not missed school.
The Friday related arts grade-level schedule:
Kindergarten: 8:30 – 9:20
1st Grade: 9:25 – 10:15
4th Grade: 10:20 – 11:10
5th Grade: 11:40 – 12:35
2nd Grade: 12:40 – 1:30
3rd Grade: 1:35 – 2:25
Shasta is eager to begin working with you and getting to know your students. She will be visiting ALL classrooms the first few weeks for short periods of time (less than 10 minutes) as she seeks to learn more about our school and our students. She will be here Monday, Tuesday and Wednesday this week.
Remember, this first week of school we may want to have two teachers per center on car duty in order to set the expectation for success.
Please look through the first literacy units and keep track of books we may need to order to build text sets. I would like to find ways to help with this if we can.
This course is FREE and has all the resources you need to TEACH THE ELECTION
you can see sample resources, lesson plans etc... all this as a service to you
Help your students become involved in the election with all of the free resources we are giving you to do this.
