Music with Mr. DeStefano and Mrs. Williams
CCES Music classrooms have been very busy lately! Our second graders gave a fun performance of "Itchy Coo and the Squirrel" on November 7th. Enjoy the photos below.
We have moved into our melody and harmony unit and students are learning to sing, play and read melodies. Kindergarten students will explore high, low, upward and downward melodies patterns while first through third graders will be building their understanding of solfege syllables and recognizing patterns. Fourth graders are playing recorders and fifth graders have been learning to play ukuleles.
The CCES Chorus will be giving a preview of their winter concert at Christmas in Crabapple on Saturday, December 2nd at 3:30 PM. Come out to Broadwell Pavilion and enjoy the music, community and some holiday cheer!
CCES Chorus and Orff Ensemble will have their Evening of the Arts Winter Concert on Tuesday, December 5th starting at 6:00 PM. They will entertain you with sounds of the season, original music and an audience sing-along. There will also have holiday carolers posted in the hallways to entertain you after the concert as you head to the gymnasium to view our student artwork!
CCES First Graders have been working on songs and activities for their concert performance of the popular children's book Caps for Sale. Come join us on Tuesday, December 12th at 6:30 PM for a fun time with caps, singing, instruments and a special guest!
Counseling with Ms. Lundy
Congrats to our Leadership Trait winner, Chris Gabriel! This month, our Leadership Trait is Gratitude, which means a feeling of appreciation and thankfulness. You can show gratitude by saying thank you, writing a thank you note, or doing a random act of kindness. Please be sure to talk to your child about gratitude at home, and help them complete their 30 Days of Gratitude Activity to be placed in a drawing to be rewarded with a special treat!
