Principal's Message
Construction updates:
Our cafeteria is renovated, but the kitchen portion is not yet finished. It will most likely be open when students return from Labor Day. Until then, we do have a limited menu. Students have experienced longer than normal wait time in line for their meals, but we are working to rectify that with some mobile carts and multiple lines. We have been tallying wait times and service times and have improved each day. We will continue to be open to student and staff feedback.
The 100 hallway is open. The 300 hallway and Media Center are on track to be open when students return from Winter Break. In the mean time, we are encouraging students to use the internal hallways as much as possible. After lunch, we will be allowing passing through the front of campus to alleviate crowding.
Dress Code:
We are following the Pasco County Schools Student Code of Conduct and Dress Code guidelines for all students. Additionally, hats, hoods, and beanies are not to be worn when inside a building or classroom. The dress code is posted below. If your student is out of dress code, we will work with them to resolve the concern. We encourage all students and parents to review the Pasco County School Student Code of Conduct and Dress Code.
Closed Campus:
ZHS is a closed campus for lunch. Students are expected to remain on campus for the entire school day and do not have permission to leave campus for lunch. Additionally, outside food delivery is not allowed, as it jeopardizes our Free and Reduced Meal status. These deliveries will be refused.
Bus Route Information:
The bus route times have been updated. Please refer to the posting below.
COVID-19 update:
The District's COVID response team is doing all contact tracing and parent contact for reported cases. We provide information to them and, in conjunction with the Florida Department of Health, they are contacting families. You will not receive the email/phone call updates that were sent out school-wide last year.
We continue to take many precautions for student and staff safety that include cleaning supplies in every classroom/work area, social distancing, optional wearing of masks/face barriers, Public Service Announcements (in this newsletter, on the daily School Announcements, and more), hand sanitizer all over campus, and more.
We will navigate these challenges and we will have a GREAT year!
We are resilient. We are committed. We are determined. We are Bulldog STRONG!
--Dr. Christina Stanley
