A5 Employees are Literacy Champions!
Thanks to you, Anderson Five employees, 301 children will be mailed FREE BOOKS through the Dolly Parton Imagination Library. So many of you stepped up to the challenge of "A Buck and a Nickel (or more!)" and you sure are appreciated for your generosity. More books in their homes starting from infancy means more children will have Literacy Awareness when they come to Kindergarten! Way to Go!
Be sure to say THANKS when you can to our fellow Local Donors!👏
Dollar General Literacy Grant supports #VarennesReads2Babies
Students at Varennes Elementary meeting with reading interventionists are being encouraged to read to their siblings and earn prizes and books for their efforts, thanks to a $3000 grant from the Dollar General Literacy Foundation. This two-part grant made possible the purchase of Scholastic Books on students' reading levels while also funding the enrollment of any younger siblings to the Dolly Parton Imagination Library. It's a win-win as older siblings get to practice reading skills on the books that are mailed to their preschool brothers and sisters while the "babies" get to have someone modeling the excitement of reading! We can't wait to meet the younger siblings in a few years when they come to our preschool programs ready to LEARN and READ!
